PERSONALIZED BRIDAL ALTERATIONS
A Beautiful Fit Begins With Listening
Your gown should do more than look beautiful while you are standing still. It should feel secure and comfortable as you walk, sit, greet guests, take photographs, dance, and enjoy the celebration.
During your fitting, we listen to the result you have in mind and examine how the gown fits, moves, and was constructed. We’ll explain what can be adjusted, recommend an appropriate approach, and be honest about any limitations before accepting the work.
BRIDAL & FORMALWEAR SERVICES
Alterations for Every Part of Your Gown
Every gown is constructed differently. We examine its fit, layers, fabrics, embellishments, and intended movement before recommending the alterations best suited to you and the dress.
Bodice, Waist & Fit
Taking in or letting out the gown, refining the bodice and waist, and adjusting the overall silhouette for a comfortable, flattering, and secure fit.
Straps, Sleeves & Necklines
Adjusting shoulders and straps, shortening or modifying sleeves, and making suitable neckline or support changes when the gown’s construction allows.
Hems, Layers & Linings
Adjusting gown length while carefully working through linings, multiple skirt layers, lace, tulle, decorative borders, and other construction details.
Trains & Bustles
Adjusting trains and creating a bustle suited to the gown’s design, fabric, weight, and the way you want to move during the reception.
Lace, Beading & Details
Alterations involving lace, beading, trims, appliqués, embellishments, and delicate fabrics are completed with attention to preserving the gown’s original appearance.
Wedding Party & Formalwear
Alterations for bridesmaid, mother-of-the-bride, flower-girl, prom, rehearsal, reception, and other formal dresses and gowns.
PREPARING FOR YOUR FITTING
Bring What You’ll Wear on the Day
Shoes, undergarments, shapewear, and accessories can change the gown’s length, support, and how it sits on your body. Bringing the actual items you plan to wear allows us to evaluate the fit more accurately.
We also encourage you to bring someone who may help you get dressed on the wedding day. They can offer support during the fitting and learn how to secure the gown, closures, and bustle.
What Should You Bring?
✓ Your wedding shoes—or shoes with the same heel height.
✓ The bra, undergarments, or shapewear you plan to wear.
✓ Accessories that may affect the gown’s fit or appearance.
✓ Inspiration or notes explaining your preferred look and comfort needs.
✓ Someone who may help you dress or fasten the bustle on the wedding day.
CRAFTSMANSHIP ON SITE
Craftsmanship That Respects the Gown
Wedding and formal gowns can include structured bodices, multiple skirt layers, linings, lace, beading, delicate fabrics, and carefully placed design details. Before making changes, our alteration specialists examine how these elements work together and determine the approach best suited to the gown.
A successful alteration may require carefully opening and rebuilding seams, removing and replacing embellishments, balancing layers, preserving decorative borders, and finishing the work so the adjustment looks intentional rather than added afterward.
PLANNING YOUR FITTINGS
Most Wedding Gown Alterations Take About One to Two Weeks
The exact completion date depends on the gown’s construction, the alterations required, follow-up fittings, and our current workload. We’ll provide a more specific schedule after examining the dress.
When to Begin
We generally recommend scheduling your initial fitting three to four weeks before your wedding—or before your travel date for a destination wedding. Earlier planning is always welcome.
Typical Process
Most brides need two to three appointments, including the initial fitting. Wedding-gown work is often completed in one to two weeks, while many formal dresses require about one week.
Need It Sooner?
Rush alterations may be possible depending on our workload and the complexity of the work. Contact us as soon as possible; timing and any applicable rush fee will be confirmed before we begin.
CLEAR PRICING BEFORE WORK BEGINS
Every Gown Is Quoted Individually
Two gowns may look similar but require completely different techniques because of their construction, fabrics, layers, embellishments, and the alterations requested. A fitting allows us to understand both the dress and the result you want.
We recommend only the work your gown requires. After examining it and discussing the alterations, we’ll explain the proposed approach and confirm the price before anything begins.
What Can Affect the Price?
✓ The gown’s construction and accessibility of its seams.
✓ The number of layers, linings, and structural elements.
✓✓ Lace, beading, appliqués, trims, and other embellishments.
✓ The complexity of the hem, train, bustle, or requested restyling.
✓ The number and type of alterations, fittings, and finishing steps required.
