Why are reviews so important?
"They say happy people don't have stories..."
But we can't honestly verify this statement judging by the number of happy customers who posted reviews here, there and everywhere!

This was my first time ever getting a dress altered, and I was scared they would not be able to do it, but was very pleasantly surprised! My dress needed to be let out almost 3 inches to get it to zip, and these ladies worked miracles!!! At first I was pretty shocked by the high price tag (I could have bought a whole new dress for that price) but since I was on a short time frame I went ahead and did it. These ladies took their time and made sure that the dress fit perfectly. Great job!

Fast, friendly service. Dropped off 2 pair of pants on Saturday and got them back perfect Tuesday. My lady had 4 pair of shoes done and she's very happy also.

Hem Over Heels is fantastic. I have a designer dress that arrived damaged, and I was determined to fix it so it was wearable. Four tailors, including two from the designer itself, examined the dress and said the damage was irreparable. Hem Over Heels was able to remove the snap buttons and add a hidden tab with normal buttons, so the dress looks fantastic and won't be a pain in the ass every time I put it on or take it off. Lia is a legitimate magician- I can't believe she was able to fix it, she was utterly patient with me when I wanted some small changes made, and it looks great. I'm so happy with the service from Hem Over Heels. I'll go back to them for everything in the future.

Came here to get a bridesmaid dress altered and it came out exactly how I wanted. The dress was ready in a week and I paid upfront so picking it up was quick. I don't know much about the cost this kind of alteration would be, but it was a little labor intensive so I wasn't overly surprised by the price. But if you check in on yelp on your first visit, you get 15% off which helped me out. And the owner also told me they offer special deals on their website as well. Would recommend this place!

I'm a little late on leaving a review based on my experience but this place deserves more than just a review. For New Years Eve I ran into some problems came in to ask if they can help with the problem they took their time to tell me what they can do and how fast (mind you this was NYE) and in less than two hours the dress was ready and it looked brand new! I was very pleased with the result, thank you for your service.

I am so glad I discovered this place on Yelp. I got fitted/measured by Brenda. She has a great personality & clearly knows what she's doing. I got 3 dresses altered here. One was a crepe material Lilly Pulitzer shift dress that needed quite a bit of altering & the hem done. Another was a studded leather dress that also required quite a bit of altering & the 3rd dress was a maxi dress with very thin fabric that just needed the hem taken up. I picked them up today & needless to say, I am beyond pleased. I will be having all my future alterations done here. Prices are reasonable & comparable to other tailors I've gone to in the area but I was very pleased with Brenda, her personality & of course her work.

This place is AMAZING! GREAT PRICES & GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I wish there was a place like this back home. I'm a college student and i needed to have a dress taken in. It was last minute but they got it done in like 2 days! I've done the same for my prom dress and i paid almost double somewhere else. This is definitely the place to go! It's not close to my dorm but i will gladly make the trip anytime. I recommend them 100%

They were very nice, quick, and reasonable (even offered a discount for first time client). Repaired a pair of 45 year old white bucks (from grad school). Like new and still with the old dirt! My wife wants to go there and try them on repairing some very very expensive shoes, which few even want to attempt because of the high original price.

Excellent service and great quality here. I brought my luggage in to be fixed and they did a great job. I returned with a wooden block of Wolfgang Puck knives and they sharpened all of them for me and showed me how to care for them in the future. I cannot say enough about the kind, professional, friendly service that you will receive here.
Positive reviews are the building blocks of a good reputation
Are reviews really that important?
Predicting the outcome of your transaction
Generally, reading the reviews will usually be giving you a pretty good idea of your degree of satisfaction in an establishment you are not familiar with. Businesses used to count on word of mouth to spread the word around about their products and services to grow in popularity.
That is still true today but we now live in a society where those words are amplified via all the social networks available out there. In a not so far past, it took years to build a reputation and years to destroy it. But now, this is all happening at a much faster speed. In other words, you can say that the message spreads at the fiber optic speed.
There will always be unhappy customer
Sometimes the complaints are fully deserved. In this case, everything should be done to make the necessary corrections to prevent a repetition. On the other hand, a simple look at the user’s overall profile sometimes makes you realize that he/she never has anything good to say about anybody… Unfortunately, they are the ones to always be the first to voice their opinions. They are out to get revenge and to hurt the business at all cost.
Happy customers tend to stay quiet
However, it is well known that “Happy people don’t have stories…”. They very rarely let their happiness spill on the review sites. Consequently, we sometimes remind them that they should let their voice be heard in order to offset the many trolls out there. Most like the idea but only a fraction of them actually make good on their promise to put in their two cents…
Most importantly, if the overall review rating is as high as ours, you can actually be assured that it is indicative of the organization you want to deal with.
By the way, Yelp!, Google reviews, Facebook and Angie’s List are the most used review sites (Wink, Wink). All hopes are that you will let your opinion be heard loud and clear.
Another good reason to give us a positive review…
To tip or not, that is the question
What is the tips etiquette for a seamstress or a shoemaker? We can certainly agree that it isn’t clear to say the least. On the other hand, we don’t have the same problem when we are dealing with a hair dresser or a waiter. So what is the golden rule then?
Be assured that we will not stop you if you want to reward the workers directly. But in all honesty, they appreciate the reviews much more than monetary tips. It sure is always pleasant to get a little bit of extra cash for a job well done but it is easily forgotten and quickly spent.
Reviews are the best form of flattery
We are specialists in a fading trade. Survival is always the first focus and worry. Above all, our employees appreciate anything that will generate them more work. And the easiest way to make this happen is to simply write a positive review. As a result, the worker will have a durable effect on its business. This type of reward will not only offset the squeaky wheels that do nothing but complain, but it will also insure your service provider will be there when you need them again.
Positive reviews = Food on the table
A few dollar tip will pay for a cup of coffee once maybe. A review will bring food to a whole group of people many times over. The awkwardness that comes with the question to tip or not to tip is easily avoided. Just leave that employee and/or the business a positive feedback. That will generate the traffic they need to make a living out of their talent.
