Why are reviews so important?

"They say happy people don't have stories..."

But we can't honestly verify this statement judging by the number of happy customers who posted reviews here, there and everywhere!

I brought in a pair of work shoes and needed them fixed in one day. I needed the Velcro on the strap fixed because it was coming apart on both shoes. I also walked through a flooded parking lot and the leather wasn't looking very good. Not only did they get them done they look amazing and the straps hold better than when I bought them.

I have been going to Hem Over Heels for several years for routine shoe care, shoe repair, and various alterations. Their work is top-notch and very fairly priced. The owner, Josh, is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and able to accommodate seemingly any request.

Just had a leather strap on a new coach fanny pack extended 12 inches! Josh did an impeccable job , you can't even tell the the strap is not original. There was a very quick turn around as well, dropped it off Monday evening close to closing and had it by Friday! Very happy with the work done and will certainly be returning to have more items altered/repaired.

I brought in three dress shirts to be altered in the shoulders and midsection and couldn’t be happier with the result. The work is impeccable and the fit is perfect. Lots of comments on here about price. I’m sure they are not the cheapest option but you will not find better quality work anywhere else. You get what you pay for. I will happily return for any future alterations.

The people who work here are dedicated to their business. They adjusted my bridesmaid dress hem length in 5 days where David's Bridal wanted 2 months. The other girls in the wedding weren't happy with the adjustments & mine was perfect. I will be going here from now on. Thank you !

This is my go to!!

I'm a short girl so I get LITERALLY everything altered. My girlfriend turned me on to this place and i'm so grateful! Been going here over a year and never had an issue. Staff is great! Work is exceptional and fast! If it's ever not right, bring it back and they'll fix it for free and have it ready the next day.

They handle ALL of my clothes and shoes. If you're looking for either, this is the place to go!

Bring your shoes after you buy them and he can help prevent the wear down!

Positive reviews are the building blocks of a good reputation

Are reviews really that important?

Predicting the outcome of your transaction

Generally, reading the reviews will usually be giving you a pretty good idea of your degree of satisfaction in an establishment you are not familiar with. Businesses used to count on word of mouth to spread the word around about their products and services to grow in popularity.

That is still true today but we now live in a society where those words are amplified via all the social networks available out there. In a not so far past, it took years to build a reputation and years to destroy it. But now, this is all happening at a much faster speed. In other words, you can say that the message spreads at the fiber optic speed.

There will always be unhappy customer

Sometimes the complaints are fully deserved. In this case, everything should be done to make the necessary corrections to prevent a repetition. On the other hand, a simple look at the user’s overall profile sometimes makes you realize that he/she never has anything good to say about anybody… Unfortunately, they are the ones to always be the first to voice their opinions. They are out to get revenge and to hurt the business at all cost.

Happy customers tend to stay quiet

However, it is well known that “Happy people don’t have stories…”. They very rarely let their happiness spill on the review sites. Consequently, we sometimes remind them that they should let their voice be heard in order to offset the many trolls out there. Most like the idea but only a fraction of them actually make good on their promise to put in their two cents…

Most importantly, if the overall review rating is as high as ours, you can actually be assured that it is indicative of the organization you want to deal with.

By the way, Yelp!, Google reviews, Facebook and Angie’s List are the most used review sites (Wink, Wink). All hopes are that you will let your opinion be heard loud and clear.

Another good reason to give us a positive review…

To tip or not, that is the question

What is the tips etiquette for a seamstress or a shoemaker? We can certainly agree that it isn’t clear to say the least.  On the other hand, we don’t have the same problem when we are dealing with a hair dresser or a waiter. So what is the golden rule then?

Be assured that we will not stop you if you want to reward the workers directly. But in all honesty, they appreciate the reviews much more than monetary tips. It sure is always pleasant to get a little bit of extra cash for a job well done but it is easily forgotten and quickly spent.

Reviews are the best form of flattery

We are specialists in a fading trade. Survival is always the first focus and worry. Above all, our employees appreciate anything that will generate them more work. And the easiest way to make this happen is to simply write a positive review. As a result, the worker will have a durable effect on its business. This type of reward will not only offset the squeaky wheels that do nothing but complain, but it will also insure your service provider will be there when you need them again.

Positive reviews = Food on the table

A few dollar tip will pay for a cup of coffee once maybe. A review will bring food to a whole group of people many times over. The awkwardness that comes with the question to tip or not to tip is easily avoided. Just leave that employee and/or the business a positive feedback. That will generate the traffic they need to make a living out of their talent.
