Do you only do embroideries on items purchased at Hem Over Heels?

We will embroider anything you want to bring in. Hem Over Heels carries an assortment of luxurious Boca Terry bathrobes and wraps for your convenience. But you are absolutely more than welcome to bring in your own items as well. There are so many options and styles available that we can’t have everything in store. It is a good idea to leave all of us a little space left to walk around in the store. So we let you pick what you like somewhere else. In either event that you buy from us or not, we provide you with the embroidery service.

About TM logos

We have the ability to sew on baseball caps as well. So if your wish is to personalize your cap, we can do that as well. Keep in mind that we are not authorized to duplicate Trade Mark (TM) logos. Don’t even think about begging or offer to pay extra for us to embroider you a baseball cap with a Yankee (TM) logo. We will not even consider it. It is illegal and could easily put an end to our business. There are risks worth taking but this is not one of them. We prefer to keep it honest and respectful of other institutions. 

About School logos and letters

Incidentally, the same goes for school logos. Every year, parents bring us items on which they want us to embroider the logo of their kids’ school. We were offering this service a few years ago. But some unhappy schools reached out to us requesting that we stopped offering that service. So we did because their request was polite and done in a friendly way.

To tell you the truth, we did not think that was fair to parents. We are not stupid, we know that people turn away frustrated and start searching for other businesses that will have no scruples or have not been given a similar warning.

Even though we could make a little bit of money and serve our patrons with this service, we opted to respect and honor the school requests. Hence, we would not like it if another company profited by duplicating and selling our logo or creations. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you…

Are you able to embroider my company logo on uniforms?

Hem Over Heels has full digitizing capabilities. That means that we can take your logo and create an embroidery file for it. That is not an automatic feature. It takes time and efforts. It is not as simple as most people think. You just don’t press a button and (Boom!) it’s done… No! Many steps goes into the process. We need to trace the boundaries of each element. Then, we determine what type of stitch will be used, give it a density, a foundation…  Also, you need to layer it so that the right items are stitched in the proper order…

Much like baking a cake from scratch. You can have a beautiful picture of it in a recipe book, but you just can’t press a button to make it come alive. In other words, you need to gather all the ingredients, and you need to assemble it in the right order. If you don’t, you may end up with pancakes… 

To be brief, creating an embroidery is time consuming. The more complicated it is the more expensive that creation will be. We will have a pretty good idea of the time it will take us to create it for you when we see your logo. Therefore, we will be able to give you a quote for that.

The set up fee is a one time fee. This service comes with the sew out for your logo. We keep making changes to it until you approve the final version. We can then proceed to embroider your garments and accessories.

Can you do embroideries on golf bags and backpacks?

For the vast majority of golf bags, we can personalize them for you. But some bags just can’t be done. One thing is for sure, you will need to empty it completely before you bring it in. Sometimes, we can detach parts of a golf bags especially designed to be embroidered. Some other bags need to be held in the air while the machine stitches it. It is usually flipped upside down and the weight of the equipment just becomes too much.

For the golf bags with removable panels, we ask that you bring the whole bag. That removable pocket cover is not necessarily stitched straight and level with the ground. We need to make ourselves a leveled guide line to ensure the embroidery will be straight.

Backpacks are tricky because some have really good access to embroidery fields, But some other bags don’t offer the same accessibility. We need to examine every bag to determine what are our options.

The cost of an embroidery on golf bags is $25+ (most bags are around $40-$45)
Prices of embroidery on backpacks is $15+
For large duffel bags (trunk bags), our price starts at $25+ (most bags are around $30-$40)

How much does it costs to do an embroidery of a names or a monogram?

The usual price for monogram on sleeves or chest area is $10. However, the price may be $15 if it is your desire to have it done on the upper hem of your chest pocket. It will depend on many factors. The best way to know the exact price is to come into the store and show us the items.

For names or monograms on towels, the price is usually $10 each towel. But for larger towels like beach towels or bath sheets, the embroidery should be larger. The price may go up to $15-$20 for these items.  When the size of the embroidery is increased to cover a larger, the stitch count starts to be a factor in the pricing.

 The cost for bathrobe monogram on a chest area is the same. That is $10 per bathrobe’s chest. If you put an embroidery on each chest, that will be $20 (2 embroidered names or monograms).

In the case where you want to have the look of a world champion boxer coming into the ring with your robe or cape embroidered with your name on the back, the price could easily be climbing to $40-$50. The exact price for that type of work need to be determined by taking many factors into consideration. So, don’t be shy! Come on in and show us your projects.
