Shoe Repair
Impressive craftsmanship that makes you say "Wow!"
Why Are We the Best Place to Repair Your Shoes?
At Hem Over Heels, our reputation speaks for itself when it comes to shoe and accessory repair. We are trusted by customers who value quality and precision in their repairs, and our team consists of some of the most skilled professionals in the industry. Whether you need minor repairs or intricate restorations on high-end shoes, belts, or handbags, you can trust us to handle it with care and expertise.
Our reputation is built on years of delivering high-quality repairs, from simple fixes to complex challenges. More importantly, we pride ourselves on our honesty in assessing whether an item is worth repairing. If the job can’t be done right, we won’t do it at all. We refuse to cut corners or compromise on quality, no matter the request. This honesty and commitment to excellence are what set us apart.
The Reality of Shoe Repair Today
It’s no secret that many shoes produced today are not worth repairing. The use of substandard materials like “Man Made Material” (MMM) has led to shoes designed with a short lifespan. These materials often degrade quickly, especially after periods of disuse. This planned obsolescence is frustrating for consumers and can even be dangerous when soles deteriorate unexpectedly.
That said, high-quality shoes are still worth repairing. Leather shoes, for instance, can last for years when properly maintained. At Hem Over Heels, we always recommend investing in real leather shoes and avoiding MMM whenever possible. Good quality shoes are becoming harder to find, and when you do find them, they’re worth keeping in good condition.
Everything Done On-Site
One of the key advantages of working with Hem Over Heels is that all work is done on-site in our fully equipped workshop. From basic repairs to custom work like belts and handbag refinishing, we handle everything ourselves. This not only ensures that we maintain control over quality, but also gives our customers peace of mind knowing their items won’t be sent elsewhere.
In fact, other businesses, such as dry cleaners, often bring their customers’ shoes to us because they trust our expertise. This reputation for excellence is why people entrust us with their most valuable accessories.
Craftsmanship That Sets Us Apart
What truly distinguishes us from the rest is the level of craftsmanship we offer. There are many in the shoe repair field, but few can match our expertise. While some repair shops may compromise on methods or materials to offer lower prices, we never will. Our approach is built on honesty and delivering the best possible results for each customer.
This commitment to quality has earned us the trust of high-end boutiques and large retailers, who regularly refer their customers to us. When it comes to repairing valuable shoes and accessories, they know we’re the ones who will get it right.
How Long Does It Take to Repair Shoes?
Like all our services, most shoe repairs are completed within one week. Some jobs, especially those requiring special parts or intricate work, may take a bit longer, but we always communicate this upfront. The time of year can also affect turnaround time, so it’s best to bring your shoes in for an accurate estimate.
If you’re in a hurry, we can often accommodate rush orders, particularly for simpler tasks like shoe shines or heel repairs on women’s shoes. However, it’s always best to bring the shoes in so we can assess the work required.

Collector's Item Restoration
This "Limited Edition LV Handbag" came to us in real bad shape. The lining was not salvageable but the outside needed some minor cleaning. We brought it back by putting in a new lining exactly like the original. It basically looked like a new handbag.
Before After
Old lining out
We carefully remove the old lining making sure to leave it intact. This is an important step in order to create the pattern for the new lining.
Preserve all parts
Take the inside pocket zipper along with its leather end bindings if any of it is salvageable to transfer the old leather label to the new fabric.
Make a pattern
Make sure you note where the pockets go in relation to the outside of the handbag. The template helps to duplicate the original lining.
Zippered pocket
Stitch everything back in place and connect the new ling to the inside's top binding making sure to follow the same stitch holes.
Inside sleeves
Recreate the pockets the same way. When stitching to the rest of the lining, make sure everything is straight.
Reassembling
Restitch the new lining to the handbag's outer shell. Make sure to realign everything properly and follow the same stitch holes.
